This month Catford Extra will be featuring Boogie Bounce! It’s a low-impact exercise workout that is performed on a mini trampoline to great music. Ten-minute taster sessions will be running between 7.45 pm and 9 pm. Come along and try out these mini trampolines (with safety bars). No special clothing (or experience) required – just comfortable clothes and a pair of socks for use on the trampoline.

Biggin Hill Spitfire Hangar Tour

The Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar is a restoration facility dedicated to putting Spitfires back in the air. To date it has restored six Spitfires to flying condition, with several more projects waiting their turn. As well as up to 13 Spitfires on site we have a 1940 Hawker Hurricane and Battle of Britain veteran Messerschmitt 109 on view.

The Capital Ring Walk is a circular route around London that is divided into 15 easy-to-walk sections between Woolwich and Becton District Park. Overall, the Capital Ring covers 78 miles of open space, nature reserves and more.

This winter we will be walking the first five sections as part of our WI Winter Walks. Members, family and friends can join us for all the stages or drop in on individual walks as they prefer.

Stage 14 of the Capital Ring Walk takes us from Hackney Wick to Beckton District Park. Along the way we will see the River Lea, Old Ford Lock, the Abbey Mills Pumping Station and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Stage 15 of the Capital Ring Walk takes us from Beckton District Park to Woolwich. Along the way we will see Beckton District Park the Royal Albert and King George V Docks and Royal Victoria Gardens.

Distance: 5.2 miles (stage 14) + 4 miles (stage 15)

Start time: 10.00am*

Meeting point: Hackney Wick Station

Finishing point: Woolwich Foot Tunnel

Stage 13 of the Capital Ring Walk takes us from Stoke Newington to Hackney Wick. Along the way we will see the River Lea, Springfield Park, Walthamstow Marsh and Hackney Marshes.
