Members Tips

Ursula’s tip:
When planting bulbs or perennials, also plant a short stick as this means that when the leaves above the ground die down, you know not to disturb that area of ground as you have a plant there.
Fiona’s tip:
Later in the season, if you have bare patches in heavily planted areas (especially near the back of a bed) and you buy a potted plant to infill, sometimes these can look more effective by simply leaving them in the pot, avoiding too much digging and giving a variation in height.
If you do this cut off the base of the pot, to allow the roots to grow naturally into the soil.
If you have a tip to share, just email it to any committee member.
